Baked a ‘skinny’ cake today with just a little chocolate ganache but a lot of sprinkles. I love sprinkles.

I used to think meaningful lives were built from major milestones. Big accomplishments.
Clear direction. Confident plans.

Now I think most lives are actually built from much smaller things. Not because life became smaller. But because I finally realized how much meaning was hiding there all along.

Putting the kettle on in the morning.
Making homemade parfaits after dinner.
A weekly dog-friendly lunch date with my dog.
Long weekend breakfasts.
Chocolate sprinkles whenever possible, please.

Lately, I’ve been trying to approach these moments more intentionally. Not as chores.
Not as background maintenance for daily life. But as small opportunities to place a little care into the atmosphere of a home. Homes have feelings and personalities too. More on that later.
